Mini-WEC 2022

Welcome to the Mini-Western Engineering Competition, where the future engineers of tomorrow come together to showcase their skills and creativity. Last year, we had two categories for the students to participate in, Jr. Design and Senior Design.

Oreos and Milk Team
Jr. Design Team

In Jr. Design, participants were challenged to create a cutting-edge robotic arm using only household materials controlled by just one thumb. The innovation and resourcefulness demonstrated by the students was truly remarkable as they pieced together their creations using cardboard boxes, glue guns, zip ties, and rubber bands.

Senior Design Team

The Senior Design category was no less impressive, with students tasked with developing a functional and visually appealing alarm clock. The students put their electrical engineering expertise to the test, creating alarms with LED displays and unique alarm sounds that showcased their creativity and innovation.

Fourth Year Electrical Engineering Students
Judges

A panel of esteemed professors from the mechanical and electrical engineering programs acted as judges, bringing their wealth of knowledge and experience to the competition. The judges were thoroughly impressed with the projects presented by the students, and it was evident that the future of engineering is in safe hands.

Mini-WEC Participants

In conclusion, the Mini-Western Engineering Competition was a resounding success, with students from all over coming together to showcase their talent and creativity. We can't wait to see what these future engineers will achieve in their careers, and we're confident they will continue to impact the world positively.
